Kia ora koutou katoa, talofa lava, greetings. Happy Matariki – we hope you’re able to take time this month to celebrate with friends and whānau. The sighting of Matariki, a cluster of stars that becomes visible in winter, marks the start of the Māori new year. It’s a time to celebrate the unique place we call home and show respect for the land we live on.  Here in Tāmaki Makaurau it’s also a chance for Aucklanders to come together to enjoy music, art, dance, food, and importantly time with whānau as part of the Matariki Festival.
